Ancient style silver and Moonstone Pendant necklace

Sometimes I like to play with ancient styles of jewelry from the past. I remembered the movies I used to watch with kings and queens wearing these large heavy rich necklaces, and felt I simply MUST make one of my own. The result of this urge is this Large silver pendant with stones:

Riorita - Large Sterling Silver Pendant Necklace with Moonstone and garnets. 

 I sawed two flowered shapes from a flat piece of sterling silver, the higher piece was made smaller so that the lower part can be seen from the top. I connectied the two parts in the middle with a sterling silver silver tube, on upper flower I soldered 4 small flowers which I handcrafted and cast beforehand. I set the top with a beautiful moonstone in the center, and four small garnets in the flowers. Then added a thick sterling silver cable chain.


That's what happens to a metalsmith like me when she watches too many historical movies! What will ever become of me?!

Silver Heart within a Heart Necklace and Renewed Moonstone necklace

Two weeks before Valentine's Day I said to myself : "You have to design something with a heart"!
I had an idea of what I wanted to do,  and started creating it, but as it was just a short while before I had to return home I decided  to continue with it the day after.
Well,  the "day later"  was quite unexpected, as The Almighty had decided to change my plans for me. What happened was that I had a small accident which kept me at home for about 10 days! A heart necklace? - forget it! 
Yesterday I decided that staying  home for 10 days has been a long enough confinement, so I got into my car and  drove  to my workshop.


There was the unfinished heart necklace waiting for me on my work table. I pushed everything  aside and enthusiastically continued to work on it. A little late for Valentine's day, but - we love heart necklaces all year 'round. Don't we?!

New Golden Dome Necklace

I have first handcrafted these gold dome earrings some time ago. I began by making them in sterling silver. Then I thought  they would look good in gold too, so I have offered an alternative to the silver earrings in gold

Gold dome necklace

I handcrafted this necklace by putting together nine granulated domes and then adding a double chain on each side of   the domes. Then I goldplated them in 24k gold. The necklace is worn close to the neck, as it is  18" long. I believe it is a great enhancer to any outfit!
